hello, world; restarting again

2024-09-10

i have really wanted to do this for a while now, have a pseudonymous online presence away from any non-infrastructural intermediary. and now i guess i do!

my intentions

do more of posting what i love.

transit thoughts

i kind of freakin love public transit. i think that it’s one of our greatest inventions as a society, an underlooked transformative technology, and i would love to talk more about it.

technology as social-change

i was going to post on a more respectable alias but it will be more fun for me to post these thoughts pseudonymously i think

identity

an often-maligned lens to look through society these days, but i find it fascinating. every day we create the person we are. some choose to create radically differently from others. why?

my anti-intentions

“social media”

i have encountered friction with all purely-online spaces, from forums to twitter. i think i need to acknowledge it’s not for me.

therefore this website will not feature any of that! no comments, nothing. eventually i might add some sort of messaging contact but idk yet. sorry to be so old-school about it!

self-censorship

i think that part of social media for me is trying to filter my opinions to curry favor with a large group of people. i have a lot of thoughts on this but i think this is a bad way to relate interpersonally.1

bad opsec

enough said tbh.

conclusion

alright, all is set and done with regards to intentions. let’s ridepost

  1. incidentally this is not the way that my irl interactions seem to play out; i find that there is a wider diversity of opinions among the group of people i hang out with irl. much to think about!
